Loss of X Windows Output With Windows 7, XWin 1.17.2.0 and VirtuaWin 4.4

I have been using XWin with VirtuaWin 4.4 and Windows 7 for about 3 years with no problems.

VirtuaWin provides multiple desktops for Windows. I run X applications on Linux servers running both CentOS 6 and 7, displaying on my Windows laptop.

I updated XWin a last week to 1.17.2.0 from the previous release, I think. Thatâs when the problem appeared. Iâve been updating Cygwin regularly, every week or two for 3 years.

Simple problem recreation:
1.	Log into a Linux machine using Putty.
2.	Enter:
$ xeyes
from the Linux command line.
3.	xeyes appears on Windows desktop.
4.	Move to another VirtuaWin desktop with the mouse.
5.	Return to previous xeyes desktop with the mouse.
6. xeyes is no longer visible. The Putty ssh window is still visible with xeyes still visible on the command line. xeyes has not exited. It does not show up on the VirtuaWin Standard Window List. Ctl-C will cause xeyes to exit.

Obviously Iâm not using xeyes for my X windows work, but I have seen this with Firefox and other commands that I depend on.

Work around:
Use the VirtuaWin Standard Window List option to keep the X application window visible from all desktops. This is inconvenient since it causes lots of screen clutter.
