Hi,
So far things have been nicely working in my cygwin with postgres and apache, thanks guys for the excellent job you're doing in cygwin. The only thing is that when I stop apache2 and postgres, or put in sleep mode my laptop, then I cannot start again both. I found that I had to shut down and restart my laptop (windows 8.1), after that apache and postgres worked again. Yesterday I tried this:
1. run cygwin terminal as administrator
2. net stop cygserver
3. net start cygserver
For a recovering from a sleep mode eventually yes.
But from a normal stop of postgres should not be needed.
I suspect that the stop did not work well and some postgres processes
are still around.
Stopping cygserver forces those processes to die.
Following these steps, I did not need to restart windows. I suppose that this is the normal way to restart apache and postgres with no problems.
I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm that this is the right way, thanks in advance for any hints,
Gery
