Accessing a Samba share works fine for me. Can you please run $ /usr/lib/csih/getVolInfo /cygdrive/b $ /usr/lib/csih/getVolInfo /cygdrive/n and send us the output of these two commands. If you can't find that executable, install the csih package and try again. Additionally, please run this: $ strace -o ls.trace ls /cygdrive/b If `ls /cygdrive/b' works fine for some reason, try this: $ cd /cygdrive/b $ strace -o C:/ls.trace ls Either way, please send the ls.trace file, which got created by strace as attachment to your reply.
