Attaching A windows program to a cygwin program using shared memory?

Dear Cygwin Users,

I am trying to connect two simulators developed in Ohio State University through a shared memory.
I already connected programs running on linux before using shm_open function.

Now I need to connect a program running on windows compiled with Visual Studio and a cygwin program running on cygwin compiled with gcc.

Does anybody have an idea how I can do this?

I have been searching through the web. But could not get a solid solution or any idea how to do it.
