I didn't, because I haven't seen such a problem, neither with building
python nor other distutils packages (double-checked today with the
current distutils-20080523-2).

I have updated Ports python for several security vulnerabilities, and
I've broken up my patches as well for maintainability.  These are now in
Ports SVN.
