Since 'gcc' is in no way a requirement for a functional Cygwin
installation, I don't see why not. This assumes* however that you can
get gcc 4.2.0 to build on Windows :-).
(IIRC 4.1.0 doesn't, and 4.3.0 is looking much more promising... I
forget how good/bad the situation with 4.2.0 is.)
