  Well, there's the problem.  Either you're not part of the domain, or the
samba server isn't, or you and it are both parts of different domains.

  Also, from your cygcheck:

UID: 1012(abiyani)       GID: 544(Administrators)
0(root)                  544(Administrators)      545(Users)

Output from C:\win\cygwin\bin\id.exe (ntsec)
UID: 1012(abiyani)       GID: 544(Administrators)

  You appear only to have logged on locally to your PC, not to any domain at
all.

  Is it possible you joined the domain *after* you generated your /etc/passwd
and /etc/groups file, and now they need updating?

  BTW, do the mangled paths in your registry mountsv2 key mean that the altera
toolset is also cygwin based?  Try getting it out of your path in case there's
some clash happening somehow.
