Nope - POSIX has not deprecated ``.  See
http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/utilities/xcu_chap02.html#tag_02_06_03.
 And portable scripts, per the rules in the autoconf documentation, MUST
use `` instead of $().  Based on the body of existing scripts that use ``,
I doubt that POSIX will ever deprecate ``.
