Re: Cygwin 'login' command does not work - why?


Both login and sshd used to work quite well on this machine -
for several weeks and after repeated reboots.  Really, honest.  
Since I upgraded a few packages in Cygwin via the Cygwin installer
they no longer work.  Reverting the packages did not help.
Even erasing/reinstalling Cygwin did not help.
Yes, I know Cygwin login is largely useless, but surely Login.exe 
must function in some regard or it would not have been included 
in the Cygwin distribution.
Of course it is a configuration issue.  
Probably, as you suggest, something very simple.  But I am out of ideas 
that's why I am asking here.  I have reviewed all previous discussions, 
all Cygwin documentation as well as searched via Google to no avail.
I guess I will step through the login and crypto code with gdb.
