Re: bash redirection problem

I'm trying to get bash scripts (from the ht//dig multidig scripts) to work under cygwin which incorporate commands like
cat /dev/stdin >> somefilename
They work ok under linux, but cygwin (latest version installed yesterday) returns
cat: /dev/stdin: no such file or directory
there isn't a /dev directory as in linux
/dev is a psuedo directory. There are elements under it. You just have know they right name! For example, try ls -l /dev/conin or ls -l /dev/clipboard.

What is the workaround if any to sort this to allow stdin to be redirected to a file?
Personally I would simply use "cat >> somefilename". That should work for both Cygwin and Linux.
