Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Updated: mutt-1.2.5i-5

There is provision for post-isntall scripts, but I suggest a simpler
approach of jsut installing /etc/muttrc.default. Then the users config
is never overwritten, and a clean config is awlays available for
reference.

When I installed the latest version of mutt using setup.exe, the
configuration file /etc/Muttrc was overwritten.
This is important for Cygwin users to know because those who are
following the instructions in /usr/doc/Cygwin/ssmtp-2.38.7.README will
have edited /etc/Muttrc in order to use ssmtp.

Do we want 'setup.exe' (or the mutt installation process) to overwrite
this file?

If the answer is 'no', then should setup.exe warn the user that his/her
/etc/Muttrc needs updating with any new default configuration
information?

If the answer is 'yes', then should setup.exe:

  a) Warn the user before overwriting /etc/Muttrc?
  b) Rename the user's /etc/Muttrc before creating a new version?

Can setup.exe be expected to have this sort of detailed knowledge about
all packages that it will install?

I've updated the version of mutt to 1.2.5i-5. The 1.2.5i-4 build was
broken, in that it was linked to a cygwin1.dll snapshot and not the
released
version.

What's New (same as what was new in 1.2.5i-4 unless otherwise noted)
====================================================================

- Binary attachments now work properly regardless of mount mode.

- Default Cygwin file mode handling has been re-enabled, so your mutt
config
files need only match your mount mode (i.e. you don't need unix line
endings
on a textmode mount).

- The binaries have been built with "--enable-locales-fix". This helps
with
the "characters > 127 show up as `?'" problem, which results in much
better
usability in many non-"C" locales.

- New in 1.2.5i-5: The binaries have been built with
"--enable-buffy-size",
which fixes a problem with mutt not detecting new mail.

- New in 1.2.5i-5: Linked to currently released cygwin1.dll, version
1.3.3-2.

===================================================================

To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on
the http://cygwin.com web page. This downloads setup.exe to your
system.

Run setup and answer all of the questions.

Note that if this is the first time that you've run the new GUI version
of setup, it will currently download the whole cygwin net release again.
After this point it will only download what is needed.

If you have questions or comments, please send them to the Cygwin
mailing list at: cygwin@cygwin.com . I would appreciate
if you would use this mailing list rather than emailing me directly.
This includes ideas and comments about the setup utility or Cygwin
in general.

If you want to make a point or ask a question the Cygwin mailing list is
the appropriate place.
