i suppose it is, because fhandler_dev_floppy handles all raw devices
named \\.\x: and \\.\physicaldriveX , not only floppies.
this means that (hopefully) now it works ok for all such devices.
as for public availability, it is already available in source form
from cygwin cvs. see http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/cvs.html
for availability of binary build, see http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/snapshots/
