RE: Permissions of files on a remote server

The partition is mounted from another NT box. What we found is that by
adding the group 'Everyone' to the read and execute permission on the remote
server the files now appear r-xr-xr-x.

eg:
-r-xr-xr-x 1 ds83392 Domain U 5 Jan 19 10:28 hat3

Now when I 'touch' a new file it get r-xr-xr-x permission. However, I can
neither change the permission or delete it! I can edit it in vim and use w!
modify its contents.

The directory in which I'm creating these files looks like:

drwxrwxrwt 1 administ Domain U 16384 Jan 19 10:28 .

so I'm thinking that there is some flaw in the way we've set up the
groups...?

Dan.

What's your server? Is it using SAMBA or something else?
