Cygwin GCC compiler in the making

Hi. I am trying to rebuild the tools for
I586-pc-cygwin. My question is, in the source code to
GCC 2.97., how do i activate cygwin-related code?
In particular, -fnative-struct?
The xgcc did not compile with -fnative-struct, but it
did get to the library libstdvc++-v3.
Good show so far.
BTW I tried --enable-maintainer-mode, but had to redo
the makefile by getting rid of libtool stuff. It's ok.
How I am configuring is

bash> ../gcc/./configure --with-included-gettext

and changing out the -g's in the makefiles. I don't
have enough room to do a complete run of gcc.
Also, how long does it take to compile gcc?
7 hours later, it is still compiling.
BTW great job and many congradtulatons to those
working on the gnu compiler collection.
I have been following GCC for over three years now.
From DJGPP to CYGWIN to LINUX and back to CYGWIN.
Later
Robert
