I installed the new login (1.4-1) and the new cygwin (1.1.3-1) and the
behaviour of login has improved: it no longer crashes. But I still
couldn't log in. Apparently cygwin_login_user() fails. I hacked
login.c to always use crypt(), even on NT, and put my encrypted
password in /etc/passwd. Now I can log in, and I can telnet to the NT
machine - just once - if I run "/usr/sbin/in.telnetd -debug".
When I last looked, I couldn't find any instructions for running
inetd. Are there any? Or is there an option to telnetd to make it run
as an independent daemon? Or does openssh work under cygwin?
