bug in walking directories?

In release 20.1 both find and du appear to get lost while walking one of my
directory trees.
If I run "find /usr" or "du /usr" it will go fine through X11R6.4 and
through /usr/bin but then it says:
find: /usr/etc: No such file or directory
find: /usr/i586-cygwin32: No such file or directory
find: /usr/include: No such file or directory
find: /usr/lib: No such file or directory
find: /usr/libexec: No such file or directory
find: /usr/share: No such file or directory
find: /usr/desktop.ini: No such file or directory
find: /usr/local: No such file or directory
find: /usr/info: No such file or directory
find: /usr/man: No such file or directory
The directories are there and appear to be fine. If I do "find /usr/*" it
works.
What's up?
