I just downloaded and installed the full version of cygwin32...
basically, i wanted to use it to tar an entire directory (the d:\ drive)
to tape0.
is there something i'm doing wrong, or is this impossible?
otherwise the bash shell seems to be working...
i can access my a:\ drive, although the cdrom and cdr seem to be defunct
(that's ok, i only need the tape drive). but i can't seem to open or
write to /dev/st0.
just in case it matters...it's an exabyte scsi 8mm drive, adaptec
controller. but scsi doesn't seem to matter, since the d:\ drive is
also scsi, same controller. i can also get to the tape drive through
the NT backup utility...
any ideas?
thanks in advance.
