Hmm... you break it for you and it works better for everybody else.  I do admit
that the exiting appears to be very sporadic.

Definately improved.

Yes, I actually did the build with 1.1.4, installed the resultant cygwin1.dll
and then redid the build.  It really seemed faster with 1.1.5.  I suppose I'll
have to time the make.
