Jason's last day at Red Hat was last Wednesday, so if he hasn't
incorporated these patches (and I don't remember hearing that he
had) they're not in.  Would you mind sending email to "kingdon@redhat.com"
instead?  He's the new webmaster, apparently (things are kind of
in flux).

I have no problems with bzip2 either but I haven't seen DJ weigh in
on this one.  He had some opinions about this, IIRC.
