Charles (and me) used to use a separate directory for the headers
which I still would prefer:

usr/include/
usr/include/bitio.h
usr/include/colorname.h
usr/include/mallocvar.h
...

usr/include/netpbm/...

Other than this binary package looks ok.

After extracting the source package I see this (I am in the root):
$ ./netpbm-10.28-1.sh prep
tar (child): //netpbm-10.28.tgz: Cannot open: No such host or network path
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
[...more...]

Moving in a subdirectory is ok.

Makefile.config:
CFLAGS_SHLIB = -DPIC
is a noop.

Anyway, the build works ok.

GTG and uploaded,
