Thanks a lot for testing! Most postinstall scripts run silently, so what
you're seeing is the output of printf's. If you could try it with
scripts that actually output something (e.g., iu-config.sh, gcc-mingw.sh,
post-texmf.sh, profile.sh), you'd see if the output is properly
redirected.
