Okay,  I got my Win95 laptop up to date, got setup built with the patch applied 
and it does appear to work.  Running setup with the patch on my Win2k laptop 
and on my Win95 laptop and installing package _update-info-dir version 00148-1 
on 3/09 resulted in the creation of a file called setup.log.postinstall in the 
/var/log directory with the following contents on the Win95 laptop:

2003/03/09 22:36:25 Running: D:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe -c 
/etc/postinstall/update-info-dir.sh
2003/03/09 22:36:56 Done: D:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe -c 
/etc/postinstall/update-info-dir.sh

This morning I updated the new automake, terminfo, and _update-info-dir and the 
log was appended to to look like the following:

2003/03/09 22:36:56 Done: D:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe -c

2003/03/10 10:56:58 Done: D:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe -c

/etc/postinstall/terminfo.sh
2003/03/10 10:57:00 Done: D:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe -c /etc/postinstall/terminfo.sh
2003/03/10 10:57:00 Running: D:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe -c 
/etc/postinstall/update-info-dir.sh

The above results are in sync with the results I noticed on my Win2k laptop as 
well.
