When I want to compile doxygen,
I must setup libpng and qt library and ......,
It's a troublesome.
I expec that This is the reason is why doxygen soruce include libpng and qt library.

By in setup.exe we have a (shared, AFAIR) libpng libreary... using it would reduce both source and binary package, and moreover would solve bugs like when libz had problems and everyone included it statically in a local copy...

Just my 2 eurocents.
