Hallo, This is perl-5.8.0, tagged as 'test' release. Please test extensively. Download here: http://koeln.convey.de/cywgin/perl/perl-5.8.0-1-src.tar.bz2 http://koeln.convey.de/cywgin/perl/perl-5.8.0-1.tar.bz2 http://koeln.convey.de/cywgin/perl/setup.hint http://koeln.convey.de/cywgin/perl/perl_manpages/perl_manpages-5.8.0-1.tar.bz2 http://koeln.convey.de/cywgin/perl/perl_manpages/setup.hint Some more infos: http://koeln.convey.de/cywgin/perl/README setup.hint perl: category: Interpreters requires: cygwin gdbm db4.0 sdesc: "Larry Wall's Practical Extracting and Report Language" ldesc: "Perl is a high-level programming language with roots in C, sed, awk and shell scripting. Perl is good at handling processes and files, and is especially good at handling text. Perl's hallmarks are practicality and efficiency. While it is used to do a lot of different things, Perl's most common applications are system administration utilities and web programming. A large proportion of the CGI scripts on the web are written in Perl. You need the perl package installed on your system so that your system can handle Perl scripts." curr: 5.6.1-2 test: 5.8.0-1 setup.hint perl_manpages: category: Doc sdesc: "Manpages for perl-5.8.0" test: 5.8.0-1 Please feel free to down-/upload to sources.redhat.com. Notes: ====== This perl is compiled with gcc-3.1.1-4. The module DB_File which is linked against Berkeley DB 4.0.14 is already included, but will be no major problem because you can run perl whithout having DB4 installed and if you need it you will be able soon to fetch DB4 via the Cygwin mirrors. Until it is available you can fetch the unofficial release from Nicholas webserver, just point setup.exe to http://today.clemson.edu/cygwin/ and fetch the libdb4.0 package which contains just the DLL's. Also the manpages are packaged separately now. Well, since I have trouble with the Cygwin version of Apache it may well be that Apache breaks during transmission. If you have problems, please contact me with a CC to <gp@familiehaase.de>, thanks. Gerrit -- $ make signature make: *** No rule to make target `signature'. Stop.
